Hillsboro Then and Now

When I was growing up in Winchester, Hillsboro was the "big town" we came to for shopping, the movies and a nice meal.  It was the Mt. Pilot to our Mayberry.  (If you don't get the reference ask your parents.)  It looked like this:

Like many young people, I moved to "the city" -- in my case Cincinnati -- as soon as possible.  After spending most of my adult there, it was no longer the place I wanted to call home.  Feeling somewhat like Goldilocks, Cincinnati was too big and though in my heart it would always be home, Winchester was too small.  When I began to search for my forever home, the Hillsboro of my youth came to mind.  I took a drive and found it now looked like this:

Not much difference is there?  And that's the point.  In all the ways that mattered, it was still the same.  The pizza parlor where I had gone on dates is still here.  Not only that but it's still in the same family.  There's no mall -- but there ARE plenty of Mom and Pop shops.  There's no gourmet restaurant, but if you like down home cooking, or the best burger ANYWHERE (that would be Cowaburger) then you're in luck.  They use locally raised beef, and the buns are made at a local bakery.

Highland County is home now.  Like Goldilocks I finally found the one that is just right.

If your just right is the same as mine, give me a call and we'll find a place YOU can call home.
